Day 8: Most Satisfying Moment in Life Thus Far

This one is going to be a doozy.

Now I have to look back on my life and think about the things that have been satisfying for me.  I've graduated from high school, college.  I've gotten a job on my own.  I purchased a car at 17 and invested in a Roth IRA.

I've never been in an accident, which isn't really a moment to be satisfied about.  I've driven far distances.  I went to New York City alone when I went to Rock the Bells in 2007.

I also flew to California alone in high school to visit my sister.  I went to the Kohoutek Festival which was fun.

I think the most satisfying moment in my life would have to be when I moved out my parent's house.  Even though I moved into the apartment that my grandmother owned, I still think that moving out of my house has given me some sanity.  If I still lived in my parents house now I don't think I would've met some of the people I know now among other things.

But I think doing this blog has served as a reminder that I should take notice of the things that I find satisfying in life.

Weight Loss Blog!

Okay, so I'm starting a weight loss/weight management blog.  Mainly because people have this idea that thin is happy and if you took a look around, that clearly is not the case.  Now I've usually been the kid in my family to go up to the buffet table 5-6 times and come back with a plate full of meat.  I did this feat at the ripe age or 11 by the way (ask my family).

But being fat and having this fat guy persona isn't so much of a bad thing.  What brings people down isn't their fat, it's the response from people looking at their fat and thinking they are disgusting or some other negative response.  If you take a look at some of the historically funnier and brighter people in history - most of them are fat.  They didn't care about their fat per se, but they cared about the idea of how they were perceived.  If they wanted to be perceived as powerful, they would see their fat as a strength against their puny little opponents.  I'd rather be well-fed than malnourished any day of the week.  There is such a thing as a starving artist and a fed artist.

Being fat, or obese, as many health insurance companies will put it now, isn't a bad thing.  In fact, I believe that there is this triangular based theory related to one's weight that will dictate one's sense of humor, one's sense of narcissism, and one's sense of happiness.  In fact, the same theory goes for with people who believe themselves to be ugly.  Let's not forget that the "prettier" people in society do not have to have the same set of skills that another person must attain to be a viable member of the workforce.  Much like how height affects one's earning power, I believe that the same could go for people who are overweight and/ugly, but in a negative fashion.  I don't know of any study out there for this, but it would seem interesting to look at.

In the up coming posts, I will take a look at people who are fat, happy, and in very powerful positions in life.

I Got A New Hockey Shirt!

So I get home from work at around 1 am, and I look in the living room to see if I want to watch TV, which I don't, but I see a particularly interesting looking package (excuse the pun) sitting on the coffee table addressed to me. I see that it is from Cupstuff.com, which is a website that I have fancied recently to get my defunct hockey team gear. I wanted to get another foam dome from them, but when I recently tried the hat on, it was too small and my head just isn't made for small hats. By the way, Foam Dome is the name I have given to baseball hats that have a mesh/foam top that can usually be found in 1989 and around Little League parks.

Anyways, I open the package and it is a gold shirt with the Oakland Seals logo on it. I had recently emailed the guy that works at the website and said I was basically unsatisfied with my purchase. So I was hoping to send back the hat and get a shirt. But here's the thing, I haven't send back the hat! This company is just amazing, already sending their products out before they get theirs back from me. I love the shirt and I intend to wear it somewhere and maybe turn some heads, probably of an old-timer sitting at a bar with a flannel on. I needed a gold shirt anyways and this certainly does the trick. Awesome purchase.
